On Friday, September 13th, our Fire Science Cadets had the honor of participating in a special Flag Detail Training led by Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department Deputy Chief Rick Hargrave and assisted by CTA Instructor Marquis Smith and Calvert County Fire Rescue Association CTA Liaison Sean Manifold.

Chief Hargrave shared the rich origin and history of the American Flag, teaching our cadets about flag etiquette and the deep significance it holds. He then walked them through the proper procedure for presenting the flag at formal events, such as our upcoming Calvert County Fire Rescue Association Memorial Service, where we honor the Calvert County volunteers who have passed away.

We are incredibly proud of our cadets for dedicating their time to this important tradition and ensuring that the flag will be presented with the utmost respect and dignity.
