Fire Rescue EMS and Huntingtown VFD, Co. 6 hosted an excellent training session on pet CPR, presented by Rescue Encore, on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Volunteers from Calvert County, along with Girl Scouts from Troop 11044, gathered to learn essential skills in pet CPR, stop the bleed techniques for animals, and how to recognize signs of distress in pets. The training was provided at no cost to the volunteers, and Rescue Encore generously donated pet oxygen masks to two volunteer departments that didn’t have them on their apparatus. Instructor Mark Driscoll effectively communicated the mission of Rescue Encore, ensuring that pet owners, service providers, and emergency responders leave feeling prepared and confident to administer emergency care to animals in need.
